Wah wah wah, etc. etc.
Everything is way too much, and not nearly enough.
1) I cannot WAIT to wear hoodies. It’s something to look forward to when you live in Texas.
2) ESPECIALLY in “Don’t Do Sadness”. I just had a musicgasm.
3) Except now that it’s gone, I want red bean candy AND mochi ice cream. D:
EDIT: forgot to answer a couple. General Questions:
What is your earliest memory of having heard ‘Spring Awakening’ mentioned? When Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist came out, and I wikipedia’d Jonathan B. Wright. But I didn’t know anything about the play until 90210 came out (sadly).
How long have you considered yourself a fan? Since October of last year - I know, I’m behind. :(
Do you have a favorite scene or song? Touch Me will always be my favorite song. Favorite scene is probably My Junk.
What about the song you listen to the most? Is it the same? Yep, Touch Me is my most listened to song, followed by Whispering and All That’s Known/Those You’ve Known (I have a habit of listening to them back-to-back).
Favorite character and why? I think Otto gets the best lines, musically. But… Moritz. It takes a lot to play Moritz.
Character you’d want to be friends with? Otto.
Do you ship any particular romantic pairings in Spring Awakening? Which? Obviously Moritz/Ilse, but also Otto/Thea because of pictures from the In The Flesh book.
Favorite costume in the show? Ilse’s romper and Wendla’s “kindergarten dress”.
Favorite line or song lyric? “And he touched me, and I let him love me, so let that be my story.”
Favorite part of the set? The friggin’ neon lights, man. XP
Have you ever been a Spring Awakening character for Halloween or some other dress-up event? Would you like to? That sounds like something I should have done already, but nope.
What is something unrelated to Spring Awakening that reminds you of the show? (A song, a picture, etc.) Uhm, anytime Lea Michele sings on Glee, or anytime I watch Degrassi (Jake as Melchior ftw.)
Have you read the Wedekind play? Did you like it? I have. It doesn’t have angsty rock songs, so I can’t get into it as much, but it’s a good read. XP
Live performance questions:
Have you seen the show live? Where and when? Yep. In April, in Dallas. :) Would’ve had stage seats in Fort Worth but they sold out, and I didn’t want to have to love the new cast yet, anyway. :\
If so, continue (if not, leave blank):
Were you a fan of the show before you saw it? Yesss. <3
Have you ever waited at the stagedoor? Did you have any particularly interesting interactions with anyone there? I haven’t. :(
Was there a particular moment where it really hit you that ‘i’m seeing Spring Awakening, this is amazing’? When I bought my merch from the table beforehand. Even though I could have gotten it for cheaper elsewhere, it made the experience fun.
Productions and casting questions:
What’s the first production of Spring Awakening you fell in love with? Is it still your favorite now? The original… yep, I’d say it’s still my favorite. :)
Do you have a favorite cast member? Brian Charles freaking Johnson.
Is there a performance you initially disliked but grew to love or vice versa? Gideon, but now I think he’s super adorable. Maybe eventually I’ll like Christy?
Who’s an actor you think is underrated? BCJ. You’re going to get sick of me saying that.
Who’s an actor who’s never been in Spring Awakening that you would love to see cast in the show?
Do you enjoy Spring Awakening in languages other than English? In languages you don’t speak? Yess. Korean, even though I don’t speak it. My fiance is Korean, and I loves me some pretty Korean boys. <3
Who’s your favorite Melchior & Wendla pair? Lea & Jonathan, naturally.
Moritz & Ilse? BCJ & Emma Hunton - but my favorite Ilse overall is Steffi D.
Melchior & Moritz? J-Groff & JGJ… though I’d prefer BCJ if they ever paired them.
Hanschen & Ernst? JBW and Gideon.
Favorite Touch Me solo? BRIAN CHARLES JOHNSON. :)
Funniest performance (by any actor in any role)? Skylar Astin was funny as Georg, but so was Shishi, really.
